Ingredients
Cabbage, thinly sliced or shredded (about half of one medium size head of cabbage) = 425 grams
Onion, diced (half of a large onion) = 150 grams
Fresh Italian parsley, coarsely chopped = 1 bunch
Salt = 1 tsp
Black pepper = According to your taste
Eggs = 3 large (beaten)
All-purpose flour = 80 gms (about 3/4 cup of flour)
Oil = 1 tbsp (for frying)
Steps to follow a recipe for cabbage pie
Combine the cabbage, onion, and parsley. In a large bowl, combine and seasonings. Mix well. Then toss the mixture with the beaten eggs. Add the flour and toss again to coat.
Using a non-stick skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Then, add the cabbage mixture and mash it up gently with a spatula. Create a round pie shape by running the spatula between the cabbage and the skillet. Approximately 10 minutes later, cover the skillet and continue cooking until it is richly browned.
The pie must be flipped over. The pie should be placed on a large plate, top side up. You will now need to invert the pie with the bottom now on top after placing the skillet over it. Cover and cook for 7 minutes. Slice up the pie, place it on a serving platter & enjoy.
