Recipe for delicious frozen paratha:
To make frozen paratha that can be stored in the fridge, follow these steps:
- Prepare the paratha dough as you normally would. Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
- Roll out each ball of dough into a thin, flat circle, about 6-8 inches in diameter.
- Make a thin strip with the help of a knife. Then put all strips in a long position, stretching. Make a round dough by twisting each. Then roll out it again and make a thin circle with the help of a rolling pin.
- Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.
- Cook the parathas one at a time on the hot pan. Cook for about 30 seconds on the first side, then flip and cook for another 30 seconds on the other side.
- Remove the paratha from the pan, and place it on a plate to cool.
- Repeat with the remaining dough balls until all the parathas are cooked.
- Once the parathas are cool, place them in a single layer in a freezer-safe container or plastic bag.
- Label the container with the date and store it in the freezer.
- When you’re ready to use the parathas, remove them from the freezer and let them thaw in the fridge overnight.
- The parathas can be reheated in a hot pan or on a griddle until they are warm and slightly crispy. Serve hot with your favorite curry or chutney.
Caution:
Do not apply too much force while rolling with a rolling pin, otherwise, the layer will be compressed and the paratha will not open much after cooking.
